What I've Learned from Traveling in China to Buy Tea

Day & Time:
Sunday, September 29, 2019 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Ever since I started drinking tea, I realized that to truly understand it, I would need to personally visit China to learn directly from the source. Each year during Spring, I travel to various tea regions in Taiwan and China (Yunnan, Fujian, and Guangdong) to meet with farmers and producers to understand their lifestyle, see how they produce tea, and taste the product they work so hard to produce. With each subsequent sourcing trip, my network of farmers & producers has grown, my palate has developed, and my appreciation for the world of tea deepens.
In this presentation, I’ll be sharing pictures and videos of my experiences and talking about things I’ve learned along the way. Hopefully, after this session, you will be inspired to visit some of these regions and gain a better understanding of tea culture.
