Katharine Burnett

Dr. Katharine Burnett is the Founding Director of the Global Tea Initiative for the Study of Tea Culture and Science at the University of California, Davis, where she is also a professor of Chinese art and culture. Her publications include Dimensions of Originality: Essays on Seventeenth-Century Chinese Art Theory and Criticism (2013) and Shaping Chinese Art History: Pang Yuanji and His Painting Collection (forthcoming). One of her tea-related research projects traces the use and style of teapots as key elements in investigating the spread of tea culture between China and SE Asia, starting with Vietnam, and before 1700.
