Japanese Tea Cultivars

Just as with all domestic plants, tea also has many different varieties bred by man, which we call cultivars. Each cultivar has its own genetic material that leads to unique flavors, aromas, color, and other characteristics, which can only be properly appreciated in single-cultivar teas. In this tasting, we will sample several cultivars of Japanese tea in 1st harvest, single-estate senchas to enjoy the characters of the various cultivars.
