In a rapidly changing world, timelessness has become a rare virtue, and a seemingly impossible feat. In a world full of shortcuts and compromise, Denong Tea seeks out the timeless. In 1998, their parent company Denong Tea Company first started conducting tea-related trade in Yunnan Province, China. In 2005, they expanded and began manufacturing, storing, trading and auctioning Pu-erh tea. They were soon awarded numerous accolades after quickly earning the respect of both their customers and peers in the Pu-erh tea industry. After the company’s success in China, Denong Tea opened up additional branches in Hong Kong and Taiwan. All throughout the world, the name Denong has come to represent an assurance of quality and dignity. Denong Tea Inc. was established as its US branch in 2012, and was officially launched in March 2016. Since then, they’ve dedicated themselves to sharing the miracle of Pu-erh with an American audience.
They have opened the flagship store in Pasadena on 11/11/2017.

Two friends who have known each other for more than 30 years founded Effie's Homemade. Joan MacIsaac and Irene Costello began their partnership with their  first company, Ruby Chard Cooking Classes.

Whether teaching classes or creating wholesale crackers, crisps and biscuits, we have always believed that great flavors come from quality ingredients, simply prepared.

The inspiration for our company comes from Joan’s mom, Effie MacLellan, and her recipe for oatcakes. Effie grew up on a rural farm in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Like many traditional farmhouse recipes, we realized the uniqueness of oatcakes is in its honest and simple flavors. All of our products are based upon this premise as we rekindle old-fashioned and forgotten recipes.

Also inspiring us are memories of growing up in households where family time revolves around dinner and where company is always welcome. We cherish the time spent at the table sharing stories and laughter alongside homemade meals.

With this in mind we bring you Effie’s Homemade and our unique line of baked goods, always wholesome, always all-natural and always simply delicious.

Cheers!
Irene and Joan

The Elmwood Inn Fine Teas story began in 1990 when Shelley Richardson opened a tea room in the Civil War village of Perryville, Kentucky - just as the American tea renaissance was about to awaken. For the next 14 years, Elmwood Inn developed an international reputation as one of America's favorite locations for a traditional afternoon tea. Bruce and Shelley Richardson chronicled their life in tea through three books and eventually launched a tea importing and wholesale packaging company - Elmwood Inn Fine Teas. After serving thousands of guests, the tea room closed on July 31, 2004 in order for the family to focus on their expanding tea and publishing businesses.

From their new Danville, Kentucky facility, Elmwood Inn Fine Teas imports, blends and packages teas for hotels, retailers, gourmet grocers, restaurants, tea bars, coffee shops and museums across North America, while Benjamin Press is now the largest publisher of tea books in America.

Being long-time educators, the Richardsons felt the need to share their tea talents with eager students. Since 2000, over 400 aspiring tea entrepreneurs from across the world have attended their annual TEA MasterClass. These seminars, combined with the 14 tea books they have now authored on the subject, continue to inspire tea professionals wordwide. Meet the Richardsons at these events.

Friends of Fire & Richard Brandt Studio

Friends of Fire is a wood-fired ceramic art collective with a mission to share and educate on our devotional practice of working with the elements. Our passion for working with clay and fire manifests as a community based, collaborative exercise that yields a variety of uniquely beautiful objects. These clay objects have been alchemically changed through the firing process, and are imbued with the energy of the fire as well as that of the firing crew. The wood-fire process is a prime example of what can be accomplished when a group of people come together to achieve a shared goal, and in doing so we all become a part of something that is larger than anyone of us. Through this we live in the heart of collaboration, and thus empower one another to achieve our collective goals as well as personal goals.

Japanese Green Tea Company (1-800-380-7030) sells authentic, healthy Japanese Matcha & Green Tea harvested in sugarcane soil. Our tea is the Winner of Global Tea Championship, 2017 and Japanese National Tea Award in 1974, 1975, 1979 and 2010.

We believe that the best tea begins with high-quality dirt. Through the Chagusaba method, the farm carefully cultivates crops of thick grasses around their tea trees so that they provide added nutrients directly to the soil as a compostable blanket every winter. The farmers also collaborate with researchers from Shizuoka University to study soil and the impacts that its sweetness has on the taste of the tea it cultivates.

This labor-intensive process protects plant delicate roots while giving each tree the nutrition it needs to grow, ensuring that only the best leaves make it into their tea. This longer processing leads to a bolder flavor filled with the health-enhancing amino acid Theanine with smoother mouthfeel, and a subtle hint of sweetness and far less astringency.

The Japanese tea shop Jugetsudo was started in 1980 by Maruyama Nori, the nori (dried seaweed) merchant that was founded in 1854. More than 160 years of tradition and experience pursuing the highest quality ingredients along with the spirit of “Cha-Zen” promise an enjoyable fragrance of tea that will stimulate your senses while providing a sense of comfort.
Jugetsudo opened a tea shop in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter of Paris in 2008. Our authentic Japanese tea has been well received among the people in Paris, the connoisseurs of good food.
Jugetsudo has just started reaching out to the customers in the U.S. The Portland Japanese Garden is now serving our tea at their newly opened tea room, called Umami Cafe and their gift shop also carries our products.

Jugetsudo means “the place from where one looks at the moon.” When we look at the moon, we become humble and truly appreciate its eternal beauty. Jugetsudo would like to offer the bounty of nature through our high-quality tea in a humble and honest way.

Eating allergen free is a lifestyle we began over 15 years ago as a young family with the birth of our older daughter, who has multiple food allergies including the top 8 – wheat, dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish, as well as corn, rice, yeast and potatoes, among others. Our other three children also have allergies to nuts, eggs and seafood.

Recipes were born of necessity when we discovered that all the usual ingredients for gluten free goodies were also allergens to us. With a desire for inclusion and a taste for sweets, I looked to my Asian roots, experimenting with ingredients atypical to the Western palate to invent our cakes and cookies. I continue to experiment with new ingredients and play with old recipes to expand our offerings. We find our baked goods tempting and tasty and hope you do too!

After extensive travel and study in tea production and culture, Taka and Kimberly Ino founded Mauna Kea Tea on the Big Island of Hawaii to devote their lives and raise family, following the way of nature. Nature teaches us to cultivate pure and humble minds, intently observing and listening and to see the world without judgement. She forgives our mistakes and guides us back to the way of nature. Truly natural tea embodies these qualities and we hope you find them in your cup.

Our commitment to the environment is demonstrated through our farming practices. By joining the USDA National Organic Program, we have testified that we adhere to a set of legally binding regulations set forth by the USDA. Meimei Fine Teas is a Virginia-based tea company. Each year since first competing in the Global Tea Championships in 2016, we have won various Gold, Silver, and Bronze tea awards, including entries in the Green, Black, Oolong, and Puerh tea categories. We only specialize in Chinese legendary high-quality teas.

We source teas differently. We don’t buy teas from large wholesalers. We buy directly from local reliable growers and well-respected tea factories. We have traveled extensively throughout China since 2014, for several months each year to ensure we obtain the highest quality possible, from true origin, organically grown high mountain teas. We have visited many historical tea regions in Yunnan, Anhui, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Jiangsu provinces; these legendary tea regions are the heart of true authentic famous Chinese teas. The focus of the last two years of Victoria’s tea sourcing trips have been in Yunnan, sourcing puerh tea.

There are many inferior teas or fake origin teas on the American market, and we want to ensure that our customers receive truly natural, high quality, true origin teas. Our teas are noticeably delicious, clean, and richly flavorful. Yes, you can tell the difference, and especially with a trained palate, you will be able to judge for yourselves. After all, good tea should bring contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, health, and peace. Tea is life. We choose the tea based on how we want to live. Tea is our passion!

When people find joy and excitement in using quality green tea, people eat healthier and feel happier.

To bring joy, excitement, and health with green tea, we do 3 things every day: 1. Offer quality products, 2. Inform what genuine green teas are, and 3. Create new ideas to enjoy green tea “outside of the box”.

For us, green tea represents Japan: our extended family. It is important for us to offer the best and safest green tea to America, home of our family.

Serene Tea, previously known as Serendipiteacha, is founded in early 2019 in Seattle. As a new business, we are very excited to connect with the local tea drinkers. Our goal is to bring single origin artisanal Chinese teas to the local tea community and tea lovers nationwide and we hope to connect people together by sipping tea and through authentic Chinese tea culture. We source teas directly from China, Taiwan and some Southeast Asia areas based on extensive study and visits to native tea farms, and we attribute a strict quality control as well as the uniqueness of our teas to the owner’s tea sommelier training background.

We are proud of our Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong teas, white teas (fresh and aged), as well as unique handcrafted herbal blends created by us. We aim to share stories of our teas, education on tea history and brewing methods and hopefully bring a surprise or two to every tea lover’s tea journey.

Our mission is to spread the Honeybee as far and wide as we can, specifically to hardcore urban environments, rooftops downtown where hotels and restaurants can bring their own brand of honey, farmed onsite directly to their menus, spas and gift packages’. Most Restaurateurs’ anymore simply farm their own herbs and in some cases vegetables onsite, adding beehives is a two-fold benefit: pollination of said herb farm and the honey that it eventually yields. What’s unique is this farm might be on a terrace, 20 stories off the ground, or a rooftop 45 stories high. No matter what or where it may be, Shipwreck Honey is here to help; we have a professional, concise understanding of the special needs/nuances of Hotels and Restaurants and the prized guests who occupy them. We feel very strongly that there are very few challenges that cannot be overcome when placing Hives in these sorts of environments, we are confident in the added value not just fiscally but ecologically amongst your peers and guests alike; the physical footprint of each Hive is small, the ecological footprint however is vast. Give us a call, email or shout-out on facebook, let us help you build your brand of Honey so together we can help the Honeybee.

The Sugimoto Tea Company (formerly Sugimoto America aka SA Japanese Green Tea) was founded by Kyohei Sugimoto in 2008 after he moved to the US to bring the exceptional Japanese green teas that his family produces in Shizuoka, Japan, to tea lovers in the west.

Today we still act as a bridge between Japan and America, sharing not only delicious tea, but also our knowledge about Japanese tea and culture. It is our hope to introduce you to the taste and aroma of fine Japanese teas, and discover why this tradition has thrived for hundreds of years, supporting good health and peace of mind for millions of people.

Tahmina (derived from the Persian word tahm, meaning strong & brave) is an international brand with a vision to export transformational products from different conflict regions of the world. We believe that economic development is one of the sustainable agents of change to war-torn societies, and that the call to bravery will overcome the history of fear in these nations. Our maiden project begins in Afghanistan with one of its best luxury items: saffron and saffron-infused teas. Tahmina seeks to connect local farmers and women with international markets, and help develop industries that can be alternatives to the illicit drug economy.

Who is behind Tahmina? We represent a collective of people who are passionate about activism and being the best in what we do. Our team is bi-located between Afghanistan and the US, and we are all part of a larger story of change in Afghanistan and change in conflict zones through the power of social enterprise.

Dedicated to fostering one of the oldest traditions in the world — the ancient art of tea — Tillerman Tea strives to introduce North America to authentic, producer direct, Taiwanese oolong tea and to inspire modern appreciation for this traditional beverage.

Every Tillerman tea tells a story; a story of passion for the soil, of dedication to the art and craft of growing and making tea. The stories our teas tell are unique, and each resonates with qualities brought to it by the dedicated growers and producers who create them.

These growers and producers are committed to sustainable, environmentally friendly agricultural practices that respect the Earth and the communities in which they live and work. They see themselves as stewards of the land and the tea bushes that grow on it. These people are special.

TOCHA Teas — A Delicious Difference You can Taste & Feel

Only Certified Organic Ingredients - Our use of only certified organic ingredients helps ensure our teas and blends are pure and safe. It is not possible to wash tea before brewing, so it is important to make sure the ingredients are free from pesticides and other harmful chemicals before they reach the cup.

Honest, Pure Ingredients - No flavorings — neither artificial nor “natural.” Many brands add flavoring to their teas. TOCHA does not agree with this practice. We believe in honest ingredients. What you see is what you get — to taste, savor and feel! The fragrant botanicals we use add just the right amount of delectable aroma and flavor to every cup, showcasing what our wonderful nature can offer.

East Meets West - A Delicious, Holistic Way to Support Your Healthy Lifestyle - Our recipes draw ingredients from both the Eastern and Western hemispheres. Some of our ingredients are highly treasured and very popular in Asia, but less so in North America and other Western communities. For example, chrysanthemum flower blends are uncommon in the U.S. but quite popular in the East. We precision-blend these popular botanicals from diverse cultures to achieve inspiring flavors, fragrances and real-brewed-tea quality, providing you a daily holistic option for your healthy lifestyle.

Your Wellness In Mind - TOCHA has created a family of blends made from teas and botanicals valued for centuries for their diverse wellness-promoting benefits. Some of our blends are good for helping your fit-and-trim goals; some help to soothe and relax you after a rough day. Creating blends that taste great while supporting your daily wellness regimen is our focus and commitment.

Years of Tradition - The Coffee Plant's Best Kept Secret

Coffee Leaf Tea has been traditionally consumed for hundreds of years in Ethiopia and Indonesia for various reasons like "helping clear the cobwebs," "stem hunger," and as a strong anti-inflammatory agent.

Coffee leaves contain a rare polyphenol named mangiferin, which is typically found in mangoes, and has been used in traditional Indian, Central American, Chinese and African medicine for hundreds of years. They also contain chlorogenic acids, also found in green coffee beans, they have made green coffee extract wildly popular in health and nutrition circles due to their antioxidant and metabolism-boosting effects.

Light, diffused caffeine - With similar caffeine levels to green tea, our Coffee Leaf Tea provides a clean clarity and focus, but without the crash or attack on the nervous system like traditional coffee.

The philosophy underlying our company is a simple one: the best teas grow out of the best practices. We feel that at its best, this incredible drink should not only benefit the drinker, but also the people who grow it and our planet Earth.

As such, we are a tea company and yet we see our work as part of something much larger. Every cup of tea we drink supports one system or another, ecologically and socially. In our search to find teas for you, we are working to support ways of tea that benefit everyone, and aligning our work with pioneers within the tea world.

Zuo Wang Tea

O U R   T E A S

We carefully curate premium teas which are full of life, relaxing, and comfortable to drink. Our teas combine quality leaves from agrochemical free farms with skilled generations of tea makers. We use various methodologies to select our teas such as chemical testing, cupping and comparing, and most importantly the observation of the body and mind while drinking tea. We offer teas that have qualities beyond taste and smell; we look for teas that experientially confirm their story of origin. The only way to fully understand a tea is to drink the tea.
