Andy Buckman and TeaJ have combined their appreciation of music and tea into a conceptual musical tea pairing known as “TeaJ-ing”. Original music is created around tea and tea culture then paired with a tea from the region that inspired the music. The concept is fluid and adapts to situations as necessary.  Andy sources most of his tea from one particular Chaozhou region in Guangdong with Hakka tea farmers who produce Dancong and other Song tea. Hakka people have a deep folk culture that is often expressed in song.  TeaJ translates these songs into Western and African styles.  Andy feels that tea culture in the US could benefit and be greatly improved by a style of music specific or at least influenced by tea culture from China.  TeaJ specializes in playing relaxing music that expresses their love for tea and tea culture in China from a African and American perspective.
